| Eleven manufacturers leading the industry in Northwest Michigan were awarded “Tool & Die Recovery Zone” status on December 20th, 2006, a pro-business designation by the State of Michigan. The mission of the Northwest Michigan Tooling Coalition (NMTC) is to provide meaningful high-quality jobs in the region and to advance the capabilities of member-firms in building quality tools for the North American and Global Manufacturing communities.
Together, NMTC member-firms will serve customers with a network of capabilities, allowing an expanded market and the offering of complete and comprehensive services to a broadened base of customers. The collaboration of these firms will enhance sales, reduce purchasing cost, share expertise and encourage a free flow of information leading to greater efficiencies and increased competitiveness for all.
Members of MNTC share eight common areas of focus in pursuit of their common goals: (1) Joint sales and marketing where appropriate, (2) the development of standardized processes, (3) the development of tooling standards, (4) the encouragement of research, development and innovation, (5) the standardized project management methods, (6) an improved ability for specialization and the encouragement of smaller niche shops to develop the expertise and capabilities required to compete successfully on larger programs, (7) a highly principled code of conduct and (8) the avoidance of anti-trust violations and observation of those limitations. | |
