The Northwest Michigan Tooling Coalition was established in 2006, in partnership with the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce. Our Board of Directors consists of owners from each member company.
We formed the Coalition to engage in collaborative marketing, development of standardized processes and management methods, plus other joint efforts to keep our skills sharp and constantly growing. This enables us to offer you the benefits of our shared expertise, comprehensive services and operating cost efficiencies.
The Coalition was designated a “Tool & Die Recovery Zone” on December 20, 2006, by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, to retain Michigan’s national leadership in the tool-and-die industry and the highly skilled jobs that it provides.
We are eleven independent, tool-and-die companies. We compete with each other and abide by anti-trust regulations. At the same time, we have complementary capabilities and trust each other.
We were selective in choosing our Coalition membership: progressive, diverse firms in Michigan’s northwest with the expertise, equipment and experience to perform at a level best-in-class in their respective specialties.
If one of us doesn’t have what it takes for your particular project, we can vouch for another member firm that can meet your needs. If the job is enormous or extremely time sensitive, we can bid jointly or subcontract to share workloads, with one firm taking the lead as your tooling project manager.
That saves you the time-consuming task of separately sourcing each aspect of a complicated tooling project. It puts us to work providing a total tooling solution for you.
That produces benefits made-to-order for you and for our Coalition members: We stay competitive, reduce costs, expedite production and meet standards of quality that keep our customers happy and make us all proud.
